The Whole Backstage

The Whole Backstage Community Theatre was founded as a Teen Club in 1968 by Dot Moore. Our group’s purpose evolved from a drama club which gave teenagers a safe creative outlet to a community theatre which produces a variety of musicals, comedies, and dramas.

Over the past forty years, the theatre has produced a wide range of quality productions. The season has four regular shows plus one extra fund raiser performance. To kick off the season, we stage a large summer musical. North Alabama residents are encouraged to participate in all functions of the theatre. The WBS provides Marshall County live theatre and welcomes cast, crew and audiences of all races, religions, genders, ages and beliefs. The Whole Backstage is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization. It is the only all volunteer community theater in Marshall County and the oldest in Alabama. The WBS exists solely through the generous financial support of its patron members and through the dedication of its volunteers.

Tickets can now be purchased online, or by coming by our office or calling us at (256) 582-SHOW (7469). The Whole Backstage theatre office is open 9 AM - 3 PM, Monday thru Friday.
